Hi guys, Don't get me wrong. I do like notifications to be displayed in the top right corner. However, they overlap annoyingly with some key buttons, like the ability to open a new tab. Displaying them just a few pixels lower would help already. :-) Screenshot so you know what I am talking about: https://i.imgur.com/qMZNssa.png I recall on Mac, it's the same way. They are not shown in the top top right corner but a little bit below. Any thoughts?
Well the problem with that is that the margin needed on the top right (or in fact: any other part of the screen) is totally dependent on the height of the panel, the height of the window decoration, the font size, etc. All this the notification daemon cannot know and to be honest querying it for the placement of every notification feels like overkill (cause you'd also have to listen to changes in e.g. window decoration height).
Aaah...I understand. Well, as a workaround I will place them in the top left corner then where they annoy less. Thanks Simon for the insights!
